11-12-08                        What a Crazy Fall!!!
From dry land training to teaching 3rd graders to surfing and kite boarding in Hawaii to attending a Ski Ball in New York and ringing the NASDAQ bell, I have had a very busy Fall.  For the first time in my life I had somewhat of a
reality check when I started having to go to work every morning at 8:00 and teaching kids all day.  It was a great experience but hard the Spring.  Our class consisted of 22 of the most amazing kids, along with two excellent teachers- Mrs.
Jones and Mrs. Hess.  I will be keeping in contact with the kids throughout my travels this winter and routinely giving them shot outs on this blog!
As for my cross training in Hawaii, what is there to say, I think the pictures say it all.  What a great trip!!  Thank you to the Fyans Family (my boyfriend's family) for such a fun time!
The final trip I squeezed in before getting on the snow was a quick four day trip to New York City.  Clark and I stayed at a friends house in Manhattan (thanks Brian), and  cruised all over Manhattan, walking through Central Park,
visiting Dylan's Candy Shop (not surprising for those of you that know me), and mostly just taking it all in through good food and good company.  Not only did I get a little taste of New York by walking everywhere and ringing the
NASDAQ bell, but the big event was the Ski Ball hosted by the US Ski Team.  This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for the ski team and I was very proud to be apart of the festivities.  Thank you to everyone that came out to support
our team, we couldn't do what we do without you!!!  Last but not least, a special shot out to KPMG, I had the pleasure of sitting at their companies table at the dinner.
Below are the links to the stories that have been done related to this blog, as well as, some pictures!  Will write more soon!!  Have a great day and remember to live the life you love!!!

12-18-08        Meribel, FRA 1st World Cup of the season

Hi everyone, I wish I was writing to you with better news, but unfortunately I have to tell you that this was a rough first competition.  I was so excited to be back on tour after working so hard all summer, and I felt really ready for this event.  I haven't had much time on
snow this fall but I really made the best of it.
We arrived in Meribel, France a couple of days ago and let me tell you, this place is awesome.  Usually we start out our season in Tignes, France, but the best food ever!!  So from the moment I got here I thought it was going to be a great contest for me.
This morning I woke up feeling great and ready to compete.  I trained well and felt like I was going to put down an awesome run.  My 360s and backflips were some of the best I had thrown since I got here and when I stepped in the gate I was pretty amped up.  I went
into the first jump like a bat out hell and after the first jump I was skiing a little crazy.  After I got it back in control, I decided to go off the bottom jump a little too fast and had to stretch the backflip to save it, sacrificing the cross.  If I had just went a little slower, with a
little bit cleaner of run it could have been different...good thing to remember for next time!
As for the rest of the Americans they did really well.  Hannah Kearny won for the women and had Pat Deneen not got robbed by the judges in the round of 8, my money would have been on him to win the whole thing.  We had 2 women in the top 4 and 3 men in the
top 16.  Go USA!
Thanks for all of your support and next time I will write with some better results.  Have a great day and Happy Holidays!!!

Hey!!!!  Hope everyone had a great holiday!!  I was in Squaw skiing over our break, doing a little freeskiing, coaching and training.  We had a couple of amazing powder days right at Christmas and then it got pretty bad.  It was a little bitter sweet though because a member
of our freestyle family was killed in an avalanche at Squaw on X-Mas day.  I would like to send a special thought out to Randy's family and friends and all I can say is that he will be missed greatly.  I have a lot of great memories of Randy that will last a lifetime.

Currently I am in Quebec and it is freezing!!!  It has been negative 18 degrees Fahrenheit the last couple of days but seems to be be on next week.  The first day I skied well but way too slow and then yesterday skied great but messed up on the backflip.  Overall, I ended up 8th
and 3rd but most importantly feel much more confident heading into next weeks competition!!!

I would like to send a special thank you to my new sponsor...H2O Overdrive, which is product that provides optimal hydration.  I'm really excited to be working with this new company...look for product to be on the shelves in the next couple of months!!

Will write more soon!!!  Have a great day and don't forget to live the life you love!
S.
What a great week in Deer Valley!!!  The week started out with an amazing powder day at Alta, skiing with my boyfriend and a bunch of his friends.  I tried to make it a short day so that my legs would be rested and ready to go for the steep, tough course that the world cup would
be taking place on at Deer Valley the following weekend.
Turned out that the course did in fact prove to be very tough!!!  It was very icy due to some rain that they received earlier in the week and when it came time for the competition, the course took out a lot of skiers.  Personally, I struggled with committing to the bottom jump, after
taking a very hard crash on the first day, when I went too big and over-rotated.
On Thursday, the singles competition, I ended up 8th, after landing the top jump a little back and had to fight to stay up as I hit those first big bumps but after I gain my composer ended up skiing well.
Saturday was a night competition and after spending the day watching the half pipe and hanging with my family, I was definitely fired up and ready to compete.  I skied great in my qualifying run, qualifying for duals under the lights.  My first dual was against Jillian Vogtli, which
is always a bummer, having to dual another American right out of the gate, but I put together a clean, fast run to take the victory.  The second dual was against Jen Heil.  Started out of the gate ahead, had a good top jump and then started skiing as fast as I possibly could, we
were neck and neck the entire middle section until I tried to start slowing down for the bottom jump and just couldn't get my skis back under my feet in time to hit the jump and therefore couldn't pull off the backflip.  Ended up 7th.  I'm happy to be healthy and am ready for the
next course in Cypress, which we will be heading to on Tuesday.
My thoughts go out to all of those that got hurt this past week..I wish all of you a speedy recovery!
Will blog soon!!!  Have a great week!!!

After crashing last weekend in Cypress and then having another rough day yesterday, here in Sweden, I am happy to report that I finished 8th today.  I skied well in Semi's but lost my dual to the winner.  Overall, I'm feeling healthy and happy and ready for the next
competition in Norway.
The past couple of weeks have been great.  Sweden, Norway and France were successful competitions...no podiums but overall, successful with top ten results at all of them.  It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride as the US Ski
Team cut all of our funding for the last three world cups and so I was scrambling to make it happen.  I was able to attend all three events, ski well, stay healthy and have some fun as a tourist on the side.  I am now back in Reno
and really excited about National Championships this weekend at my home mountain, Squaw Valley.  The competition is located on Red Dog at the bottom of the mountain, on a course that I have grown up on.  With the new
snow and warm temperatures I think we are really going to put on a show.  I hope everyone can come out and cheer us on!!!!  The schedule is:
Friday        Qualifications 9:30-10:30   Friday        Finals 1:15-2:25 Saturday    Half pipe Sunday      9:45-10:45 Sunday      1:00-2:30
I look forward to seeing everyone there as it is our last hurrah for the season!!!
4/15/09
Tax day!!  Hope everyone is having fun finishing up their taxes...I just sent mine in about an hour ago.  Well the season is officially over.  We ended it with a kick ass weekend in Squaw!!!  It was a such a great time...thank you Squaw and volunteers for all of your hardwork and making it such a great and fun event. I
ended up just off the podium in singles...finishing 4th and then lost to another hometown girl, Shannon Bahrke for duals.  Overall, I had a great time skiing in front of my friends and family and Squaw Valley did a fantastic job with the event, I can't wair for next year!!!
Soon after the event, about 12 hours to be exact I was switching gears to another lifestyle...teaching 3rd graders.  I was in the classroom the following morning writing on the amazing lifestyle of a professional skier.  I'm so greatful for all of it and even though I will be working full time without getting paid the next
two months, the end is in sight and it will allow me to focus all of my attention on the Olympics in Gebruary.  As for summer training, I am planning on training the month of July in Park City, the month of August in Chile, the month of September in Zermatt and then Fall camp somewhere in Europe.  It is going to
be a lot of hard work and getting down to business the board what their journal topic was and thinking...my life is so great.  I'm about to graduate college (May 16th to be exact) and I've managed to get it done while living this summer but I want to make sure that I am fully ready for the first World Cup which will
be in Finland December 12th.  There will be six competitions before the big show in February and I plan on getting the job done early so I don't give myself an ulcer!!!
Thanks to everyone for all of the support this year, I know that without your help I would not be where I am today...so thank you so much!!!  Will write more soon!!

Hello from Salt Lake!  It has been a very busy Spring, finishing up school and getting physically fit.  I graduated last month with my teaching cred
ential from UNR and am officially finished!!!  I'm really excited that I was able to complete
all of my internship so that I can focus all of my attention on training this Summer and Fall.  The day after I finished teaching I went to Mexico to camp for a couple of weeks to surf and refocus...it was amazing.  I'm now back in Park
City, training on the water ramps and working out with the team.  It has been a very productive week even with all of the rain.  I'm more motivated than I have ever been to train and put in the work so that I am Camps in July...contact
me if you want details...it should be sweet.  Then I'm coming back to Park City to train for a week before heading to Chile for the Month of August.  I'm really stoked at where I'm at and where I'm going. Thanks for all of the support...I'm
really lucky to have such great supporters, together we are going to Thanks for all of the support...I'm really lucky to have such great supporters, together we are going to Vancouver!!!

Well it looks like the only time I ever have time in my life to update my website is when I'm in Salt Lake because I'm back again and updating again.  I have been here the last week jumping on the ramps and taking
care of Clark.  Many of you already know but my boyfriend was caught in a large avalanche when we were in Chile and ended up in the hospital down there for 12 days and had 4 surgeries.  We have now decided
to relocate to Salt Lake for a couple of months so that he can get all of his necessary surgeries (at least 2 more elbow surgeries and knee surgery) and I can train at the same time.  So far so good, we are both
doing well and working towards the next goal.  I will be getting back on snow in 2 weeks when I head to Switzerland.  I'm really excited to continue the progress I was making in Chile in regards to my turns, speed
and jumps.  I attached some video of me water ramping to the right side of this blog so check it out!!  Thanks again for all of the support and continuing to follow the dream!

The season is almost here!!!  Lots of training this Fall...2 weeks in Switzerland, one week in Mexico,
one weekend in Utah and now I'm currently in Colorado training at Vail and A-Basin.  There isn't much
snow here but we are making the best of the small moguls and big jump that we have built.  We are
going to stay here for a week and then head home for Thanksgiving before heading to Finland for a
couple of weeks.  The first world cup is in Finland, so it will be great to get a chance to train on the
going to stay here for a week and then head home for Thanksgiving before heading to Finland for a
world cup course before the first event.  Well like I have already told a lot of you, I am going to be on it
with this bog this year.  I am going to update it every Monday so check back much more frequently as I
am going to be better at sharing my world cup experience, funny stories and the excitement of being
on the US Ski Team.  I just got a camera so I will be better about documenting the experience and
putting up pics on this page.  With that being said, I just added a backflip video from Utah and a funny
video from Mexico and a cool sequence that Clark made!
11/23/09
Well it is Monday and I am updating...aren't you impressed.  I'm just chillen in the Denver airport, flying home! We had some great training days this
week with a little fresh snow on the course this morning to make it even sweeter!  Other than that, it was a pretty mellow week, well as mellow as it can
be with 14 people in one giant house.  We did get our new uniforms which is always an anticipated event.  I tried to attach a pic but realized that I don't
have my camera cord.  They are bright!  I like them except for the knee patches, I know it's mogul skiing but that seems so 70's to me.  I'm trying to
round up some red fabric for a little sewing project and then they will be all good.  Anyway, have a great Holiday and Happy Thanksgiving!  Will write
next Monday, as I will be in the airport heading to Finland...don't you just love airports with free Internet! One more reason Reno is so cool!
12/2/09
Made it to Finland and have already seen some reindeer.  Not much skiing going on because none of us received our bags because one of our connecting flights had a strike in the baggage department.  Therefore,
lots of reading and walking going on.  It is very freezing and dark- like expected.  The sun rose at 11:45 am and set at noon...it was pretty cool actually.  It feels like sunrise and sunset from 10:00 am to 3:00pm and
then the rest of the time it's dark....yeah I could never live here...I love the sun.  Well, I will write more when something exciting happens! The town we are in claims that Santa lives here, so I will keep you posted on
any sightings.
12/4/09
Still no bags...starting to freak out a little bit.  Supposedly they are in a warehouse with over 6,000 other bags that need to be sorted.  Trying to
come up with alternatives for skis and all other equipment (at least I have my boots.) I will keep you posted as the bag saga unfolds.  Other
than that, this place is beautiful.
12/13/09
I guess I will start by saying that I didn't win but I sure gave it a good run. For a trip that started a little rough, it progressively got better (except
for the food.) When I first arrived I was having a bit of a hard time getting back into the mode of being on tour and the competitive vibes but
each day I got more and more comfortable.
Wednesday after training we visited Santa's Village and when we arrived back at the hotel they informed us that next weeks competition was
going to be canceled due to lack of snow in France and therefore we would be having two competitions on this course, one on Friday and one
on Saturday.  Friday I went for the win by skiing a little too out of control and made two big mistakes in the final, moving me from 9th to 14th.
Then on Saturday, skied two really good runs to finish 7th.  It just happened to be that everyone laid down a perfect run in finals and landing a
little forward on the bottom air was enough to make a difference between first and seventh. Overall, it was a great trip and I am feeling very
confident and happy with my skiing as I head into Olympic Trials next week. If you don't know what that is, it is a competition solely for US Ski
Teamers; winner of the competition gets an automatic spot to the Olympics....yeah no pressure!! I'll keep you posted!
12/24/09
Olympic trials wrapped up today in Steamboat.  We competed yesterday under snowy skies, the course was perfect and the crowd was large.  As for my day, I was a little too fired up in the first run and went way too
fast into the top jump, causing me to go to big and over rotate my 360.  Skied a good run the second run but didn't boost the bottom jump like I had all week in training, which probably cost me the win.  Hannah
Kearney ended up winning and on the men's side, Pat Deneen took the win after a very close competition.  As for what's next, I am heading home today to spend Christmas with my family and ski at Squaw and
then will be taking off to Calgary next week.
12/28/09
Very tired from coaching kids all day. Laural Shanley, Timmy Dutton and I just wrapped up our annual 2-Day ski clinic with kids from the Squaw Valley Freestyle Team.  We skied with about 25 kids and it was awesome!  They were skiing
great and pushing themselves to the next level.  I wish them all good luck in the comp on Wednesday!  As for me, I'm hoping to ski some powder in the next couple of days...it's snowing right now!
1/15/10
Hey everyone, skiing is going well.  More top ten finishes, with a 5th and 7th last week in Calgary and a 7th yesterday.  We have another competition in Deer Valley tomorrow.  I'm skiing really well and excited to compete tomorrow!  Stay
tuned....
5th Place- Calgary
1/22/10
Well I have some bad news...I'm not going to be an Olympian.  Yesterday I needed to get a podium and it didn't happen...I'm pretty bummed. I've been skiing so well but for some reason the stars just weren't aligned for that goal to happen.  For those of you that
don't know how the qualification process works...we get 4 Olympic spots, even though there are 7 of us on World cup.  Those 4 spots are filled with best finishes.  The women's team is so amazingly strong right now, 4 other teammates, got 1st-4th place, leaving
my 5th in a bad spot.  Anyway, with all of that being said, the great thing is is that life goes on and I know there are many more life adventures and fun times to come. I am so grateful for the amazing lifestyle that I have been living.  Competing for the past 11 years
on the ski team has been an amazing experience and the opportunity to see the world has been priceless.  I also want to reiterate again my thanks for all of the encouraging email's, phone calls and text messages from all of you that have supported me over the
last couple of months.  I'm going to take a couple week break from all of it (ski some pow in Alaska) and then probably finish the season with two world cups in Spain and Sweden and then of course, Nationals at Squaw the last weekend in March!!!
1/28/10
I got my first pair of cross country skis today and just went and tested them out.  Let me tell you, walking around on skis is much more unnatural than skiing downhill on them.  I'm enjoying my time off in Alaska and looking forward to the next powder day!
2/21/10
Hi Everyone, sorry that I haven't updated lately.  I don't have any results to post but I have been doing some pretty fun stuff.  I stayed in Alaska for another week and then went to Mexico for a week.  It was the perfect break from reality.  I camped on my
boyfriends land and surfed, stand up paddled, and whale watched...it was fantastic.  Now I am back in Reno, enjoying the snow.  It snowed about a foot and a half at my house today, but barely snowed at all in the mountains...so weird.  I'm going to ski at
Squaw tomorrow and then head to Alaska on Tuesday for some more skiing and hanging out with my boy.  I want to congratulate our team, Hannah and Shannon kicked butt with a first and third place at the Olympics...congrats girls!
3/9/10
Alaska is going off!!!  It has been snowing like crazy and the skiing has been phenomenal.  Chugach Powder Guides has been delivering it up daily!  I gave a private ski lesson all last week with a very cool lady, while her husband skied
with the crew, we had a blast. Today I went cat skiing in 40 inches of fresh and tomorrow will be skiing Alyeska because they didn't open any of the goods today...yes I am super spoiled!!!
3/17/10
Just had 2 amazing days in the Heli...bluebird powder...doesn't get any better!!  Heading home this weekend to start preparing for Nationals next weekend at Squaw.  It is going to be a great event!
3/30/10
The season ends with a perfect weekend!!!  National Championships at Squaw were the best ever this past weekend.  With perfect weather, large crowds and a lot of
amazing skiing, I don't think it could have been any better.  On Friday I was just off the podium with a 4th place finish but I came back with a vengeance on Sunday to take
the win!!!  It was a really great feeling to do it at home in front of my friends and family and I couldn't be happier!!  Thanks again for all of the support this year and years
past...it truly means so much to me.
As for what's next, I'm headed to India today.  I know...crazy.  I am going to meet up with the Brill Family, where we will be traveling to India, Nepal, Iceland, Ireland,
Amsterdam, Austria, France and anywhere else we want to go.  I am teaching their two kids (yes I have my teaching degree) lesson plans that I have designed based on
each of the countries that we will be visiting.  It is going to be an amazing trip! I will continue to blog on this site so keep checking back for updates and pictures!!!
4/9/10
So far India has been amazing.  It is so different from the US…total chaos, with people everywhere and cars swerving in and out of one another, honking nonstop to make sure everyone knows where everyone is. The amazing thing
is is that it actually works.  I haven’t seen an accident yet or been in one yet, although we have been close a few times.
As for where we have been, so far we have spent 2 days in Delhi, cruising around looking at Temples and other sites, and then we got on a train and went 5 hours to Hardiwar.  This was an amazing place.  There is a festival that
occurs there every 12 years and we happened to be there while it was happening.  The Yogi’s or Sadhus, come down from the Himalayas and camp in the city for 3 months and people from all over India make a pilgrimage for the
festival. There are many religious ceremonies and the people bath in the Holy Waters of the Ganges River.  The energy in this town was very special…just imagine burning man times 50 million because that is how many people
visit during the three month period.  We stayed at a nice hotel right on the Ganges and I sat in the river drinking Chi in the morning and then did Yoga and wandered around the city markets and different camps during the day.  After 2
days in Hardiwar we were taken to Rishakesh, where we stayed in a secluded and beautiful hotel on the mountainside.  We only stayed there one day and night but during that time we river rafted the Ganges, swam a lot on the
banks and got the most interesting massage I have ever had.  The 90 pound woman was very aggressive…let’s just say it wasn’t a relaxing massage but quite the experience.  Later, we boarded a train and headed back to Delhi,
where we stayed one night before catching a domestic flight to Amristar.  Once in Amristar, I got another massage and then the following morning went to see the Golden Temple.  It was spectacular.  The Golden Temple is where
the Sikh's go to take a dip in the Holy water and worship...it is a fascinating religion that combines Islam and Hinduism, Christianity and Judism, ultimately trying to eliminate racism. After the Golden temple we went to the
India/Pakistan border and watched the flag lowering ceremony. About 7,000 people visit there everyday to watch this very interesting ceremony.  Both countries open their gates and the soldiers lower the flag at the same time, while
citizens from both sides, sing, chant and dance.

As for the other experiences, the food, is amazing…rivals Mexican food.  As for the people, they are all very nice…I have had some great conversations with many people. Since the second language is English, many people speak it
very well.  I am getting a few strange looks, considering there aren’t too many blonds in India and not too many tourists.  As for the kids, they are reading a lot of good books and learning about the culture.  We watched a movie on
the Dali Llama yesterday and finished Three Cups of Tea today.  I am enjoying working with them and developing a relationship with them...we have our moments of struggle but I think we are adjusting to one another's expectations.

Anyway, we are headed to Dharmashala in about an hour and it is supposed to be amazing. Overall, I love India and am excited to be traveling with a tour guide; I feel like I am learning much more about the culture and religions
than if I just came here on my own.
Well that is all I have for now.  I will write more as the adventure continues.
4/10/10
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, I had a wonderful day! The Brill family treated me to a chocolate cake and Cody set up a movie theater for a special Tin Tin movie!
8/26/10
As you have noticed I have been a huge slacker on updating my blog this summer. I decided rather than trying to recap all the
exciting events that have occurred this summer, it would be better to show you with pictures. If you were wondering how I am able
to pull off a summer like this and train at the same time, well the answer is I didn't train. I decided to retire from the US Ski Team
this year. I'm excited for all of the new adventures and although skiing will still be a huge part of my life, I'm excited to shift gears
from the world cup. Stay tuned for what's next!
11/20/10
It has been the Fall of the beach! After spending almost two weeks in Hawaii for Shannon Barkhe's magnificent wedding, Clark and I headed to Baja, where we have been surfing, soaking up the sun and working on the house. I really love
being down here. It is such a simple and healthy lifestyle; waking up early to go surfing, coming home and cooking up some sort of egg wammy, working for a couple hours on a project, going surfing again, eating and in bed by 9...it's perfect.
Anyway, a couple more days of this and then we will be heading back to Tahoe. I am planning on working a little bit for the Squaw Valley Freestyle team this winter, as well as, running my private and group clinics. Clark just got a new job in
Jackson, therefore, I will be back and forth between Squaw and Jackson all winter and plan on skiing as much powder as possible!!!! Email me if you want to go skiing!
12/14/10
It's snowing in Tahoe!! After a week of coaching in anything but stellar conditions, I'm excited to get out tomorrow and make some POW turns.
12/19/10
Dumpin' in Tahoe. I'm shoveling in my new Moment Ski Clothes...check them out at www.momentskis.com....they are sweet and did I mention, bright!!
1/8/11
Happy New Year!! I brought in the New Year by driving to Jackson. It has been great being out here and getting the opportunity to check out a new place and ski a lot of great terrain. I even
went back country skiing yesterday and for those that know me, they know that is a big deal considering I really like helicopters! It's snowing right now so hopefully tomorrow will be blower!
1/24/11
I'm back in Tahoe and loving the sunshine! I drove home from Jackson on Friday so that I could compete in Daron Ralhlve's Banzai tour at Alpine this weekend. For those of you that don't know it is like a skier cross but on big
mountain terrain. It was crazy scary going up against intense racer and skier cross chics but I survived to get 2nd place. I am going to stay home for the next couple of weeks and compete in the next event at Kirkwood, as well as,
coach the Squaw kids before heading back to Jackson for some more freeskiing! Have fun and get out and ski!
2/14/11
Happy Valentines Day! Hope everyone finds their day
filled with love. I'm going to spend the day skiing at
Jackson and then have date night with Clark. I came
back to Jackson last week after competing in the
second Banzai at Kirkwood. As you can see from the
pics...I got another second and now Shannon Rahlves
and I are tied for the lead. The last comp will be held at
Sugar Bowl the weekend of March 12th...should be
exciting!
3/15/11
Hope everyone is having a sick winter. I have been loving life...skiing in Jackson, then to Revelstoke last week, now in Silverton and headed home to Squaw at the end of the week!
Just a little update...as some of you know I didn't compete in the Banzai this past weekend because I was invited to an event called the RED BULL Cold Rush and couldn't pass up the opportunity. Today was the first day with the big mountain competition. It was
amazing...sunny, helicopters, big mountains and decent snow. There were some amazing lines skied by both the men and women. I was stoked with my line, not the most aggressive line I could of skied but I made it down smoothly and with the intimidation factor at an all
time high...I'm happy to say I finished 2nd. This is a really cool event because all of the competitors judge each other. After dinner, we gather together and watch video from the day and rank each other runs...so sweet! Anyway, two more days of competition left, tomorrow is
slope-style, which means hitting two kickers into semi-pow...hopefully those mogul jumps that I have been doing all my life will pay off! I'll keep all of you posted as the next two days of competition unfold!!!
3/17/11
Thanks for all of the emails and support the last couple of days. Yesterday was the final competition of the RED BULL Cold Rush and it was by far the most impressive show that I have
ever seen. There were 360's 720's, 720 Rodeos and backflips thrown off of 70 and 80 foot cliffs...it was incredible!!
After seeing Jackie go off of a 70 footer, I knew that I was going to have to use a more tactical approach because as most of you know, I have never hit a cliff that size and have no desire
to. I decided to try a backy off a small set of rocks near the bottom. The first run I just got a little caught up and crashed, so I tried it again in the second run but unfortunately came up a
little short. Anyway I didn't make the podium with Grete, Michele and Jackie but I had so much fun trying.
As for the overall, Grete took the win, I came in 2nd and Michele came in 3rd. It was quite the experience...completely different from a World Cup! Anyway, I'm excited to go practice and
push my freeskiing to another level! Headed home to Squaw now...can't wait to be home! Powder is in my future!
3/16/11
Another 2nd place in the slopestyle event. With a backy up top and an attempted off-axises 7 in the second run (unfortunately I crashed that one because I came in too hot and didn't set it hard enough). I will let you
know how the final day of competition goes tomorrow!
3/22/11
Oh my...the pow at Squaw is sooooo good right now!!!
8/7/11
Wow...has it really been almost 5 months since I have updated this thing. Well I have an excuse while I'm in Mexico during the Spring because I
never get out of the water but I have been home for over a month now and well, I guess I still can't stop playing. As most of you know, that is my
style. I've been biking, stand up paddling, waterskiing, and playing lots of volleyball, and I even manage to tutor a couple days a week and serve
some food at night. As for skiing, it is the craziest thing but I might not put my ski boots on all summer...which would be a first but I think I'm ok with
it. As for my latest project, I am going to start my own tutoring/teaching business and use my teaching/coaching skills to help others learn. I will post
my website here as soon as it's up and hopefully everyone can help me spread the word to families in need of some extra academic help. Keep
playing, enjoy the sun and I'll post again soon!!! Oh yeah and if you haven't tried stand up paddle boarding yet...get out there, it is a great work
out and tons of fun. I just got a BOGA PADDLEBOARD and it rocks...check them out at www.bogaboards.com...it is the best value for the best
board!
